The Story Behind STOZO
In 2014, I arrived in the United States speaking zero English. Every single day was uncomfortable—ordering food, asking for directions, trying to make friends. I had no choice but to step out of my comfort zone just to survive. That discomfort became my greatest teacher.
I learned English, graduated high school, then college, and became a physical education teacher in the Bronx. Safe, right? Stable career, pension waiting at the end. But while teaching, something inside me refused to settle. I started selling high-end bicycles as a side hustle—despite knowing absolutely nothing about bikes. Over three years, I sold 170+ bikes. Each sale was proof that you don't need to be an expert to start. You just need to be willing to figure it out.
After three years of teaching, I looked at the path ahead: 30 more years for a pension, comfort, predictability. And I realized that's not living—that's waiting. So I did what I've always done when something scares me. I stepped out. I started STOZO, a clothing brand, with zero experience in fashion, design, or business.
STOZO isn't just a brand. It's a reminder—to me and to you—that every time you've grown, every time you've won, every time you've become someone you're proud of, it started with one uncomfortable step. This is for everyone who refuses to let comfort become a cage. This is for the dreamers who move before they're ready.
